Chandrashila is a beautiful peak located in Uttarakhand, precisely in the middle of Kedarnath and Badrinath, where we can see different mountain ranges all around. Chandrashila can be reached after a steep climb of about 2 km from the third Kedar Shri Tungnath Temple. You can only travel on foot to this place. When you will see the Himalayas from Chandrashila, you will feel as if you will touch the Himalayas at once. Due to the high altitude of this place, travelers sometimes suffer from a lack of oxygen. Being in the high Himalayan region of Uttarakhand Garhwal, from this place you can see beautiful views of the peaks of Nanda Devi, Trishul, Kedar, Bandarpoonch, and Chaukhamba.

According to the legends and according to the local people, this is the same place where Lord Rama did penance after killing Ravana. And another belief about this place is that the moon also meditated here to get rid of his sins. Chandrashila track is very famous among the people, it is believed that lakhs of people come here every year.

Although this trek is considered easy what makes it a bit difficult is the steep climb involved in it. Reaching Chandrashila is not that easy, to reach here one has first to complete the trek between Tungnath Temple and Chopta. Then from there, one has to climb the Chandrashila. The whole area around Chopta is considered Cherrapunji of Garhwal. Sometimes clouds are also visible below here, so this scene is also very supernatural. When people travel here, it is important here that we have to be careful. It also rains here, due to which the slippery condition increases and the trek becomes a bit more difficult. Every year people come here and enjoy this place.
